In The Beginning

We were budding young pastors, just set out on our own as a new church plant by our Bishop, my father in law Melvin Godfrey Sr. A new building, old chairs, donated tables and a fire burning inside of both of us. Then, the unthinkable happened. My mom. Cancer. 2 months later, she was gone. I was lost. The only light I found was in leading others in worship to Jesus on Sunday Morning. I was incredibly broken with no interest in sight. It was in that place that my husband suggested I take up a hobby. It started out with Polymer Clay & jewelry making. The discovery I made about myself from that gift is what gave birth to what we now know as The Little Black Dress Event.

Who We Are

The Little Black Dress Event is the Women's Ministry of Grace Through Faith Community Church. Our mission is to encourage entrepreneurship, marketplace ministry & financial literacy in the Body of Christ. We realize that when we cultivate our unique gifts & talents, we are properly positioned for abundant blessings in The Kingdom of God.

Troubling Trend

Over the years, The Little Black Dress Event has helped many people discover their gifts and deepen their understanding about their talents. Recently, we have discovered. a troubling trend. People do not know who they are. They don't know who they've been called to be & they don't know what they've been called to do.

Christ Esteem

We realize that when people discover who they are in Christ, something amazing happens. They develop something we call "Christ Esteem". Self esteem, comes & goes, but when you realize who you are In Christ, situations may change, but who you are In Him will remain.
